BIOGRAPHY

Education and Professional Development

Sanela Šipragić Đokić was born in 1973 in Banja Luka. She graduated from the Faculty of Philology at the University of Belgrade, Department of English Language and Literature. After completing her studies, she improved her expertise in the field of translation and applied linguistics, especially the methodology of teaching Business English. She attended and successfully completed the Seminar for the training of translators and interpretors at the Association of Scientific and Professional Translators of Serbia in Belgrade, where she successfully passed all the exams provided for in the program and obtained a diploma of translator-interpreter for the English language. With further training, she passed the exam with honors and obtained a Certificate for Business English Language Teachers issued by the London Chamber of Commerce.

She regularly and actively participates and presents at professional seminars and international gatherings of teachers of foreign languages, conferences of the Association for Foreign Languages and Literature of Serbia and the Section of University Teachers of Foreign Languages, of which she is an active member, as well as the International Association of English Language Teachers ELTA.

Professional Career

She started her professional career as a translator and officer for communications and civil society development in the humanitarian organization World Vision International in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Then, in the period from 2001 to 2003, she worked as a n interpreter and administrative associate at the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia and Montenegro. She started her career as an English teacher at the School of Foreign Languages “Đuro Salaj”. From 2003 to 2008, she worked as a lecturer for the English language course at the Faculty of Management of Braća Karić University. In the period from 2004 to 2006, she also taught at the Teacher Training Faculty of the University of Belgrade.

Since 2008, she has been working at the Belgrade Banking Academy – Faculty of Banking, Insurance and Finance, where she teaches Business English.
