Dr. Ismail Musabegović has been an associate professor at the Belgrade Banking Academy – Faculty of Banking, Insurance, and Finance since 2005. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade in 1981. He obtained his master’s degree from the London School of Economics in London in 1988. He earned his doctorate from the European University in Belgrade in 2004. As part of the “Different Face of Serbia” program in 2011, he was a visiting professor and delivered a lecture on the “Economic Perspective of Serbia” at The London School of Economics, London. In 2016, he participated as a visiting professor within the International Week at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences – Faculty of Business and Law (Germany). As part of the ERASMUS+ teacher mobility program, he stayed at Danubius University, Galati (Romania), in March 2020
He began his professional career in the business system of Energoprojekt Holding. From 1981 to 1993, he carried out foreign trade activities related to numerous large investment projects both domestically and internationally. He became the Financial and Commercial Director of Energoprojekt Engineering in 1990. From 1993 to 2003, he served as the general manager of several companies. During that time, he also worked as a financial consultant for trading financial instruments in several foreign financial companies (setting up trading rooms, training personnel for securities trading for bank needs, as well as trading currencies and financial derivatives on exchanges in Chicago, New York, London, and Paris). From 2003 to 2004, he worked as an assistant general manager at Vojvodjanska Banka a.d. Novi Sad, where he was responsible for the development and implementation of modern banking practices. He has been a member of several boards of directors, including serving on the Board of Directors of Komercijalna Banka a.d. Belgrade from 2014 to 2015. Since March 2018, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of Banka Poštanske štedionice and Deputy Chairman of the Audit Committee of BPŠ.
