BIOGRAPHY

Education and Professional Development

Born on August 19, 1962. in Belgrade, where he finished primary and secondary school. He enrolled at the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade in 1981. After completing his military service, full-time studies began in 1982/83. year and ends in 1986 with an average grade of 9.74 (max. 10.00). During his studies, he was twice promoted by the Faculty as the Student of generation (1984 and 1985). At the same faculty, he enrolled in master’s studies in the field of Monetary Economics and Banking and finished them with an average grade of 9.87. He defended his master’s thesis entitled “Capital structure and strategic management of the company” in 1992. He also defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Company Restructuring Strategies” at the Faculty of Economics, University of Belgrade in 1995.
During his academic career he completed professional training in:
Great Britain – London School of Economics – 1990/91.
USA – University of Nebraska at Omaha (Fulbright Scholarship Program) – 2002. During his stay in the United States, he visited over 20 prestigious universities and established very intensive academic and professional cooperation with SEC, FINRA (ex NASD).
Italy – University of Turin – Faculty of Management (SAA) within the TEMPUS project BOUNA which the BBA has developed a double degree program – 2008-2010.
France at the University of Nice – Sophia Antipolis at the Faculty (Institute) of Economics and Management within the Basileus program – 2010/11.

Professional Career

He started his professional career immediately after graduating from the construction company Energoprojekt, where he worked from 1987 to 1989. After that, he transferred to the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade, where he worked from January 1989 to October 1, 2005. In the period 1989-1992 he worked as an research assistant, from 1992 to 1995 as an assistant in the subject Planning and Enterprise Development Policy (later Strategic Management). From 1996 to 2001 he worked as an assistant professor in the same subject and from 2001 as an associate professor. He taught at the basic academic studies in the subjects of Strategic Management and Financial Markets (created the first program of that subject). In his master’s studies, he taught the subjects of Theory of Organization and Management, Financial Management in Agribusiness and Financial Markets.
He has been working at the BBA since October 1, 2005, where he was elected full professor in 2006. In the period from 2006 to 2015, he was the director of the Institute of Economic Sciences, one of the founders of the BBA. At the BBA, he served as vice dean in the period 2005-2006. and dean since 2017. He has taught and examined at several faculties in the country: Faculty of Economics in Kragujevac, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Management BK, Educons University and abroad: Faculty of Economics, Technical University of Kosice, University of Nice, Faculty of Management, University of Turin, Faculty of Economics Faculty in Podgorica, Faculty of Economics in Banja Luka, Montenegro Business Scholl and others. He performed a number of functions – member of the Securities Commission of the Republic of Serbia, member of the Board of Directors of Atlas (Piraeus) Bank, Jubmes Bank, Komercijalna Banka, member of the Supervisory Board of Uniqa Non-Life Insurance, and several other business organizations.
