BIOGRAPHY

Education and Professional Development

Hasan Hanić completed his undergraduate and master’s studies and earned his doctorate at the Faculty of Economics, University of Belgrade. At the same faculty, he progressed through all teaching positions, from assistant-intern to full professor. He served as the vice-dean of the Faculty of Economics (in three terms) and, by authorization, acted as the dean of the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade. At the same faculty, he held numerous other roles: he was the director of the Research Center, director of the Publishing Center, president of the Commission for Postgraduate Studies, head of the Information Systems and Management master’s program, among others. He was also a member of the Expert Council for economic, legal-economic, agro-economic, statistical, and demographic sciences at the University of Belgrade, a member of the University Assembly, dean of the Belgrade Banking Academy (in three terms), vice-rector (in two terms), and a member of the Senate of the University Union in Belgrade (in three terms). Additionally, he served as a member of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Economic Sciences in Belgrade, president of the Board of Directors of the University of the Mediterranean in Podgorica, a member of the Conference of Universities of the Republic of Serbia, a member of the Republic Commission for the Reform of Education of the Republic of Serbia, and a member of the Council for the Development of University Education of the Republic of Serbia.

Professional Career

He held numerous professional roles, serving as a member of the National Council for Economic Recovery of the Government of the Republic of Serbia. He was the president of the Supervisory Board of Atlas Bank, president of the Supervisory Board of Kopaonik Insurance, president of the Board of Directors of Atlas Bank, and a member of various professional bodies and committees in the fields of finance and higher education. Since April 2018, he has been a member and vice president of the National Council for Higher Education of the Republic of Serbia. From 2019 to May 2023, he held the position of president of the Board of Directors, and from May 2023, he has been serving as the president of the Audit Committee of the Deposit Insurance Agency of the Republic of Serbia.
